What We Collect

What you enter into the calculator stays in your browser unless you choose to email yourself an estimate. Product value, shipping cost, insurance, unit count, duty rate, and sale price are processed client-side only. They are only sent if you choose to email yourself an estimate from a calculator result, and then only as the short summary described under Email Alerts below.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand basic site usage. GA4 may collect standard usage data such as page views, events, approximate location, device information, browser information, and cookie-based identifiers.

Affiliate Links

We may link to partners such as supplier-payment providers or freight forwarders. Those partners may set cookies on their own sites if you click through. We do not receive personal data from those partners. None of these affiliate links are live yet.

Email Alerts (Optional)

If you opt in to Tariff Change Alerts, we collect the email address you provide, the page you signed up from and, if you used the calculator, the product category you selected. We use Kit (ConvertKit) as our email service provider to store subscriber details and deliver these emails; Kit processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy and security practices. Signup uses double opt-in: you will not receive anything unless you confirm from your inbox first. We send a short tariff check-in once a month, plus a separate email only when an important change can't wait, and never for marketing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately. To request a copy or deletion of your subscription data, contact us below.

You can also email yourself a calculator estimate from the box under a calculator result. When you do, we send a short summary of your estimate to Kit, which emails it to you. The summary contains the date, the product category, the product value, the estimated duty, fees and tariff layers and, if you entered them, the landed cost (which includes shipping, and insurance if entered), the quantity and cost per unit, the sale price, the net margin after marketplace fees and any ad spend, and the GO / TIGHT / NO-GO verdict. The box "Also send me a short email every month" is ticked by default: then the estimate comes in your confirmation email, and you join the monthly check-in when you click confirm. If you untick it, Kit sends you the estimate once and nothing else; your email address and the estimate stay in Kit, marked as not confirmed, unless you click the link in that email to join. Kit stores the summary with your subscriber record. If you send yourself a newer estimate, it replaces the older one. We delete the estimate, together with your email address, whenever you ask us to. Unsubscribing stops the emails; to have your details deleted, contact us below.

No Accounts

This site does not offer user accounts, does not store your calculator inputs (apart from the optional emailed estimate described above), and does not sell personal data. If you opt in to email alerts or email yourself an estimate, your email address, signup details and any estimate summary are stored by our email service provider as described above. That is the only personal data collected by this site.

Effective Date And Changes

This policy was last updated October 2, 2026, to describe the optional emailed estimate (earlier updates: October 1, 2026, for the monthly check-in and the signup details we store; July 6, 2026, when optional email alerts were added; originally effective June 14, 2026). We may update it as the site changes, and the latest version will be posted on this page.
